HELPFUL TIPS FROM THE PROFESSIONALS
Michael from Hollywood For Hire recommends taking your existing decor and using it to your advantage:

“It is common to think that the colour of the sashes, flowers etc should be a reflection of the bridesmaids dresses, think before committing to this, think about the big picture. Each venue and restaurant offers its own individual décor and generally it has been thought about long and hard to offer a harmonious, and cohesive design, it’s worth using this to your advantage…”

“Just because you have selected a certain look for your bridesmaids doesn’t mean this needs to dictate the decor of the room…”

“Use the existing decor to your advantage and embellish it with the colour and style that will help reflect who you are, through centerpieces, table dressing, chair sashes, bridal table presentation and so on…”

Jessica from Angelic Events says not to follow trends and to create a unique style that reflects both you and your partner:

“Never forget details! Details make your BIG DAY personal and unique….”

“A theme is important from start to end, this creates your atmosphere, it tells your story from your invites and carries it right through to the reception…”

“A Chill Out Area is a great way to break the ice for your guests, they not only look good but they create that little VIP look…”

Marcus and Basil from Centrepiece By Design say theming can determine if you want to have a vibrant celebration or a sophisticated formal setting:

“Consider colour, texture, movement and even aromas to capture all the senses…”

“Vintage themes can be glamorous by bringing dates and places together. Paris in the 1920’s, Hollywood circa 1930’s or even England at the turn of the century. Influences for theming can also be gathered from many exotic countries around the world –  A night of the Orient, Indian Summer, Moroccan Dreams or Spanish Flair. Everything is possible…”

“During the reception also consider your wedding as 3 acts of a great show and have something special or surprising happen during the beginning, middle and end of the night. Remember if it means something to you everyone will feel the joy, love and emotion…”

Lynn and Mary from Affordable Chair Covers recommend using fabric, chair covers, sashes and table runners to transform your room into a ‘magical landscape’:

“Chair covers are all the rage at the moment and the colour selection is limitless.

Many couples are opting for a double sash where the main colour  theme is complimented by another sash tied in to it”.
