Date of Wedding: 23 June 2012

How did you meet: We met in high school when we were 14 & 15 and became fast friends. After some flirting in science class we began dating and have been inseparable ever since!

How long did you spend planning your wedding? Only 3 months!

Number of guests: 39

Describe the theme of your wedding and why you chose this theme: Our theme was inspired by our beautiful wedding invitations which were cream, with a white bow and diamantes. We reflected this theme in our choice of wedding cake, guest book and other little details. Most importantly, we wanted to keep things simple yet beautiful at the same time.

Colour scheme: Violet & ivory

Ceremony location: Heritage Room at Wolfies Restaurant

Reception location: Trawler Room at Wolfies Restaurant

Describe the Brides dress (include name of designer/boutique/label): The dress was by Bonny from Faure Valletta Bridal in Bexley. It was an off the shoulder, lace-up corset with Swarovski crystals on the skirt and a train.

Describe the Bridesmaids outfits (include name of designer/boutique/label): My bridesmaids wore floor-length violet La Femme dresses that had beautiful beading as the detail.

Men’s suits (please include description): The guys all wore simple black suits with white shirts and black ties. Glenn’s white buttonhole and the groomsmen’s violet buttonholes finished off their look.

Photographer: My good friend, Jonathan Kwok took the photos which turned out amazing. www.kwokwork.com

Hair & Makeup: Natalie from Glowing Acclaim did a great job with the hair and make-up. www.glowingacclaim.bounce.com.au

Stationery/ bonbonniere: We ordered our bonbonnieres from Truly Madly Deeply in Bexley. There were two different types—carriages & bicycles—both filled with chocolate hearts and sugar almonds.

Cake: We had a stunning 3 tier champagne-coloured cake from the Cake Studio in Sans Souci. It was marble-flavoured and had little details like drapes, flowers, diamantes and pearls.

Flowers: Vivian at the Sincere Florist in Marrickville did a wonderful job with the flowers. We had large champagne glasses filled with a variety of colourful flowers as centrepieces. My bouquet was a teardrop with white orchids and purple lisianthus. The bridesmaids’ posies were made up of white gerberas and purple lisianthus.

Entertainment: DJ Maestro organised by Dockside played music that got everyone on their feet!

Honeymoon: We’re planning a honeymoon to either New Zealand or Fiji, or maybe both!

Describe your day: We were both very calm on the day because we knew Dockside had taken care of everything. All the little things came together in the end and even the weather cooperated with us! Before walking down the aisle, I was a bundle of nerves and burst into tears but Sasha from Dockside was attentive as ever and took care of me. The wedding ceremony was sweet and the reception was beautiful. It was a perfect day.

What were your favourite parts of your Wedding Reception: The entire night was amazing but we especially enjoyed the speeches, the food and all the dancing!

Any Tips for Future Brides & Grooms: Always have a back-up plan if you’re having an outdoors wedding just in case the weather doesn’t go your way. My biggest concern was not being able to get photos at the beautiful location if it rained.

Is there anything else you would like to share with our (Venue Name) brides and grooms:  Sasha from Dockside was amazing throughout the entire process. She was reliable, organised, friendly and attentive and helped us with all the little details for the wedding. The entire staff at Dockside did their best to make our night a special one. We enjoyed ourselves so much we wish we could do it all over again!
